Description
- Surabhi Mudra stimulates the manipura chakra (solar plexus) and helps to bring all five elements into balance, particularly by calming the fire element.
- When the eight fingers come together, a number of nerve centres and glands are stimulated, such as the adrenal, pineal, and pituitary.
- As such, Surabhi Mudra helps to detoxify the body, and improves digestion, metabolism and hormonal equilibrium.
- If practiced regularly during meditation, this mudra can help to manifest desires and realize dreams.
Follow these steps to practice Surabhi Mudra:
- Begin in a stable sitting posture, with hands in prayer position at heart centre.
- Connect the tip of the ring finger of the right hand to the little finger of the left hand.
- Connect the tip of the ring finger of the left hand to the little finger of the right hand.
- Bring the middle fingers of both hands to touch the index fingers of the opposite hands.
- Spread the thumbs away from the fingers, pointing towards the heart.
- Hold the mudra, whilst focussing the awareness on deep and steady breaths.
