Prana Mudra
Prana mudra is a simple yoga technique, or gesture, designed to increase vitality and activate the muladhara (root) chakra. The term comes from the Sanskrit, prana, meaning “life force” or “energy,” and mudra, meaning “gesture” or “seal.” To perform this mudra, the ring finger, little finger and thumb touch while the middle and index fingers are extended .
Prana mudra is a hasta (hand) mudra and one of a series of therapeutic mudras thought to have healing properties. It is best practiced in padmasana (lotus pose).
