Chair with Prayer Hands
Chair with Prayer Hands
STEPS :
- Stand tall with your feet together and your arms by your sides.
- Inhale deeply as you raise your arms straight above your head, shoulder-width apart, and palms facing each other.
- Exhale and bend your knees, lowering your hips as if you are sitting back into an imaginary chair. Your thighs should be parallel to the floor, and your knees should ideally align with your ankles.
- As you continue to breathe, bring your palms together in a prayer position at your heart center. Press your palms firmly together, engaging your arms and chest.
- Keep your spine straight and your chest lifted as you maintain the Chair with Prayer Hands position.
- Gaze straight ahead or slightly upward, fixing your eyes on a point to help with balance.
- Hold the pose for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, breathing deeply and evenly.
- To release the pose, inhale as you straighten your legs and bring your arms back down to your sides.
Benefits
- Strengthens the ankles, thighs, calves, and spine.
