Samyukta Hasta
Samyukta hasta is a form of hasta mudra, or yogic "hand gesture," in which both hands are needed to convey a message or to direct energy. From Sanskrit, the term may be translated to mean “double hand” or “combined hand.” Samyukta hasta mudras are used during the yoga practice of asanas, pranayama and meditation, and are believed to stimulate different areas of the brain. They are also used in classical forms of dancing in India.
An example of a samyukta hasta mudra is the simple praying hands position known as anjali mudra. It is used as a form of greeting, salutation and respect.
